WayGringo ("the app", "we", "us") is a collaborative travel planning application available on Android and web. It allows groups of people to plan trips together in real time — adding map stops, chatting, making video calls, and saving photo memories.
WayGringo is operated by Sailor App Design, based in Mauritius.
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
We do not collect: email addresses, phone numbers, real names, payment information, location tracking, or device identifiers beyond the anonymous ID described above.
Your information is used exclusively to provide the WayGringo service:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics sold to third parties, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
Photos you upload to trip stops are private to your device. They are stored on our server linked to your anonymous device ID and are only visible to you — not to other trip collaborators, even those sharing the same trip.
Important: If you clear your app data or reinstall the app, your device ID is reset. Existing photos remain on our server but become inaccessible since they are linked to the old device ID. We cannot recover photos in this scenario.
All data is stored on a private VPS server running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with PostgreSQL. We implement the following security measures:
No data is transferred outside our server infrastructure except through Cloudflare's proxy, which we use for DDoS protection and SSL termination.
You can delete your photos at any time from within the app. Deleting all stops in a trip removes all associated data.

WayGringo is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users through the app.
